A KSS Canada residential security team protects your home and the people in it, around the clock or for the hours you need. Every team is designed from an assessment of the property, the household and how the family lives, and is run as one accountable operation with a named lead and clear reporting. We work across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, and can protect clients’ other homes in Canada and abroad.
It Starts With an Assessment
Most significant residential mandates begin with a Residential Security Risk Assessment: an independent review of the property, its existing systems, the household’s routines and its exposure, including what is visible about the family online. The assessment tells you whether you need a residential security team at all and, if you do, how large it should be, when it should be on duty and what it should do.
The recommendations are yours to act on. The assessment is a standalone piece of advice with a written report, available on its own or as the first stage of a residential security program.
Operatives Chosen for Discretion and Judgement
Our residential security operatives come from military and policing backgrounds and are selected through KSS’s proprietary Selection Day process, which tests judgement, temperament and discretion as well as skill. Working in and around a family’s home calls for a particular kind of operative, and we select for it. Every operative on a KSS team:
- Is selected by KSS and works under KSS’s direct operational command
- Is trained in emergency first aid, so help starts before paramedics arrive
- Works quietly around the family’s routines, household staff and guests
When we take over an existing security arrangement, every operative on the team is selected and deployed by KSS.
What Our Teams Do
- Patrol the grounds and monitor the property’s alarm and camera systems
- Control who comes and goes, including staff, contractors and deliveries
- Deter intruders and respond to alarms and incidents, working with police and emergency services
- Provide emergency first aid
- Help the household build good security habits: the everyday behaviours that keep a home secure

Coverage can be continuous, overnight only, or arranged around travel, events and periods of higher risk, and it is reviewed as circumstances change. We recommend reassessing at least once a year. For families with homes outside Canada, we can extend the same standard to their other properties through KSS’s international team.
